Could someone kindly tell me whether the copious certificates I have scanned and linked to in Reunion are able to be uploaded to the web?

They are plastered with "Crown Copyright"...

Obviously you are referring to certificates from the UK.

I asked for an opinion from my Family History Society in England, and the general opinion (from four local members) is that these are certified legal documents and it is not advisable to post copies of them on the web.

But it should be OK to type out the information on the certificate and post that together with the GRO index reference.

From my reading the short answer is no, you can't scan and place the certificates online, but you are free to use the information contained in the certificates.
