I too am struggling to put my Reunion web cards on dotmac via iWeb 08. The demo makes it look easy, but iWeb does not accept pre-formatted pages other than those offered in Themes.

I have managed to get my Reunion index page onto an iWeb page but it seems to be just an image of the text and photos, because no hyperlinks work and it is difficult (almost impossible?) to move photos around.

Has anyone successfully put their Reunion web cards on dotmac yet?

My experience is that iWeb is easy -- IF you want to make your own site using their templates. For the output from 3rd party apps, not so easy.

I don't use iWeb. Instead, I just put my web family cards in the Sites folder on my iDisk. Just drag the folder from the Reunion Reports folder to the iDisk's Sites folder. The URL for your family cards will be:

where username is your .Mac user name, foldername is the name you gave the Web Family Cards report in Reunion and contentspage is the name of the contents page name, if you don't take the default name. If you take the default, it is named index.htm. (I think in that case the contentspage part of the URL is optional. But I'm not certain of that.)

You can password protect the folder if you want from the Dotmac site. Note that it can take some time to upload the files to your iDisk. I have a small database (fewer than 200 people) and there are about 600 files in the web card report. There are about 50 PDFs of census pages included and a maybe as many photos and other documents. It takes about 35-40 minutes sync my iDisk.

If you really want to use iWeb to create a custom front-end then you could upload the web cards to the Sites folder and then create a link to the contents page.

Cheers,
Karen

Yes, Terry. Go to the .Mac page/HomePage. Then you can click on Add page and upload your site.

Don't use iWeb 08 at all; instead use the Destination feature within Reunion and select iDisk. Your file will be uploaded directly to your iDisk and published on the Internet.
