Hi all,

I have relative that I believe served in the Korean War or was in the service during that era. How (or where) do I found out any info about his possible service during the Korean War era?

Perhaps I should added that he didn't die during the Korean War. He died about 1 year ago. Also, as far as I know, he wasn't injured during the Korean War era. Thanks though.

How much you can find out is determined by how close a relative you are. Immediate family as classified by the government (father, mother, sister, brother, wife, child) can fill out a SF 180 to get copies of the service person's records.

You may want to go to http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personnel/public/faqs.html to get an overview of what is available and how to get it.

Cheers!
