Has anyone found a workaround for reading Genealogical.com CDs on a Mac? Short of installing Windows on a Mac.

It says, "...in order to read the CD, you must use Family Archive Viewer..."

And FAV isn't available for Mac.

Get hold of a PC Emulator for your Mac (I use Guest PC from www.lismoresystems.com/ ). Load up a spare copy of Windows from any PC machine you are about to throw in the bin. You can run Genealogical.com CDs from this emulator; it is a bit slow but it works.

This is for non-Intel Macs. For an Intel Mac off the shelf today, there is Boot Camp already built in by Apple. It requires Windows Vista or Windows XP. And there is Parallels which can run recent and old versions of Windows plus Linux.

On an Intel Mac, will CrossOver for Mac, which is donation-ware and does not require Windows, do the job with Genealogical.com CDs?

It would seem that Family Archive Viewer should work. Codeweavers' compatibility data base reports that FAV is untested, but many people are happy using Crossover without ever reporting back to Codeweavers on applications that work.
