I have created an iWeb site and linked it to a Reunion 8 web folder that is in the Sites folder of my iDisk. So far so good. It works fine. My problem is how I can easily provide a return route from the data base in the web folder to my iWeb site.

The best solution would entail having a link on each family or/and person card in the data base. So wherever a visitor stopped in their search they could return with one simple click.
The task of doing that seems formidable to me but maybe someone knows something I don't - an automated applescript, perhaps?

At present, I simply tell visitors to use the back arrow or History drop-down to get back to my iWeb site. Has anyone any other ideas for doing this?

The simplest thing might be to modify your Reunion home page with iWeb to include the link back. Visitors would have to return to your Reunion home page before linking back, but it would be an improvement over the current situation.

If it's really important to have the link on every page and you don't mind recreating the Reunion web folder, you might be able to put a link in the footer (click on web options), but I don't know if you can put html in there.

Henry and Tim,

When I "create web family cards" I use "web options" and "footer" and put into the box that appears a title and a URL:

Bob Rugo's Homepage
http://homepage.mac.com/bobrugo

and check the box for "add footer to the bottom of each page"

The result can be seen at the bottom of the following page:

http://homepage.mac.com/bobrugo/Sites/RugoPublic/WC01/WC01_006.HTM

Boston, Massachusetts Looks good! So you just type the URL "http://homepage.mac.com/brobrugo" into the footer field and Reunion automatically changes it to the html code "<A HREF="http://homepage.mac.com/bobrugo">http://homepage.mac.com/bobrugo</A>" when it makes the pages?

That works in the note field too. I typed a URL in the notes field starting with http:// with the intent to be used for reference. To my surprise on the web cards it was an active link.

Many thanks for those replies from Tim, Bob, Roger & others. Very helpful.

I am thinking about expanding my web database because the present one is very much a short version of what I have in Reunion. I think the best approach is to start from scratch with a new web folder and I will certainly use the footer field suggestion - seems the perfect answer.

Thanks again for coming to my aid, folks!
