I have been using Reunion for several years to record both goat and horse breeding and pedigrees. For the horse data I want to be able to calculate the coefficient of inbreeding. Have found various pc software programs that do this but does anyone know of a Mac software version?

Failing that does anyone know how I could export my data to a pc which has software to calculate the coefficients?

If not finding a Macintosh program capable of doing what you desire, you then have the option of running Windoze under Virtual PC --- or --- you could just buy a new Intel machine and use Bootcamp.... ;-)

Thank you Steve, but no luck so far. We actually bought an old PC to run a software programme which was not availale for the Mac. It was cheaper since the Virtual PC for the Mac here costs $A499.00

I know nothing at all about livestock management, but a quick Web search turned up FlockFiler ( http://www.flockfiler.com ), which is meant for sheep but might work for horses. You might be able to find other Mac software as well.

Failing that does anyone know how I could export my data to a pc which has software to calculate the coefficients?

Well, what kind of files does the other program want? Start there, and then we can figure out how to get those files out of Reunion.

That would be a good feature to add to Reunion (for people). I have one set of "grandparents" where I'm a descendant of 4 different great-grandchildren and I'm also a member of 3 different generations of the family.

I have found the Find Relationship very useful in giving degrees of consanguinity and have been using this the horses.
