Default Searching

Hi, i never seem to have much luck with the search facility. Can someone please suggest the questions to ask if I want to see if I have a 'Mrs Smith who died in 1944' ? I don't have her maiden name or her husband's name.

Thanks
Margaret

[1] Events -> Death -> death date contains 1944
[2] Facts -> married name is Smith (or married name contains Smith)
[3] Attributes -> sex is female

But the success depends on how you've entered her and her husband.

You might also try entering "-Smith" (with a hyphen in front of the "Smith") in the people search box, which will give you a list of people with the married name Smith. You could then mark everyone in that list and search for [1] Attributes -> person marked yes and [2] Events -> Death -> death date contains 1944.
