    New Map Site!

This site is called "The National Map". It has modern maps that are printable in 8.5" x 11.0" if you print the PDF files. Take a look.

The main page is - http://nationalmap.gov/

Intro to the small-scale printable maps is - http://nationalmap.gov/small_scale/

The Printable Maps page is - http://nationalmap.gov/small_scale/printable.html

    Hope these are helpful.

There also seems to be an off-shoot project that is being worked on, called The Global Map. I didn't explore that but it looks interesting.

Oh, if you know elementary or geography or modern US history teachers, please be sure to check to see if they know about the site! As a retired 4th grade teacher, I would have loved to have had access to such a site when I was teaching!

Here's another map website that has great maps for genealogists! There are animated maps for each state that show changes in counties plus many other pages of various historical maps and links.

Explore America's past and present with our curated collection of maps, designed to help you see the country in a whole new way.

Please let me know what you think.

    Hope you find this helpful.

Wow, Kaye, this is great! I thought I had seen info on something like this in the past, but I didn't get it pinned to my 'Genealogy Research - Maps' board https://www.pinterest.com/anitabbb/g...research-maps/, so I now have this site pinned! I just spent some time learning about Mississippi Counties and how the boundaries moved in the early 1800's... Thank you!

Kaye, this is off-topic, but is there a way here to send a personal message? I just now realized - you're in Hillsboro, and I'm just a few miles south in Dallas (west of Salem) - nice to know there's another Reunion/researcher not too far away!

Click on member's name to get to their profile. If they allow contact, should be info there. I do allow contact so you can get my email address on my profile.

Nice to have a Reunion neighbor!
