I had a remote relative (now dead) who went to USA in 1920.
He became US citizen and married an american woman. I have his Social Security Number. How do I get information about their marriage date, his wife's name ... I have tried different sites in US but have failed ... |

[1] look up his Social Security Number (SSN) in the Social Security Death Index (SSDI), which will give you an exact date of death, and a place of residence at the time of death (at the county level). It does not include a date of marriage or spouse, but you can use the information to order Social Security records that may, if the spouse survived him. [2] you can look for a newpaper obituary in papers near the time and place of death, which will usually include spouse's names. [3] you may be able to consult naturalization records. |

If you don't have easy access to the SSDI, email me with the name and SSI and I will look it up for you.
