    Change Events TYPE Universally

I just imported a GEDCOM from MFT. The MFT field of Formal Education is now known as:
*New [EDUC]. I want to change this universally for over 5000 individuals to read 'Formal Education'. I have a variety of these type of universal changes I need to make or back to MFT.
    Help and Thanks.

    Go to:

    Reunion -> Preference -> Fields

And select the appropriate options based on the type of field (e.g. Person / Facts) then double-click a field name in the list at left to edit the name.

Well that was easy. Thank you.

In MFT the memo field allows you to include misc info like schools, churches, cemeteries etc. How can Reunion include this information. Read the attached and it becomes obvious that places are missing. Thanks.

You can put this information into the Memo field for events (and it should have been imported into that field in the case of events), however, if you want to see this information in the narrative reports along with the city/state/etc. you should enter it into the Place field for the event instead of the Memo field.

Note that you can include the Memo field for events in narrative reports, but given the example you provided it seems you'd like to have this information output along with the city/state/etc. details - not as a separate line in the report.

This looks to be a herculean task as nearly every person has a Memo note for each event.

            A couple other questions.
            1. I started with how to change the Type of event. I changed a couple and then thought that by doing that the basic connection to the Gedcom might be fractured so I undid the three or four I did. Was I right or is OK to change the Type fields and the info will be imported correctly?

            2. Other than for names why is some of the text bold?

            3. Can I change margins? If it is printed and bound the inner edge could have more space?

            4. Can I not include the pictures report before the Place Index, but maintain sequential page numbering?

I tried Reunion 9 and didn't care for the interface. I then purchased MFT and love the look and interface but they do not allow the capacity for decent Register style books so I bought Family Tree Maker on to make books form MFT Gedcom for non-computer savvy relatives (I am 70). That requires some finessing that is easily accomplished in MS Word Find and Replace but still not ideal like having to make an index by hand. I checked out R11 and it looked like it might have been the answer.

There jury is still out but your ready helpfulness has been a big plus. Thank you.

That would depend on the field. Reunion chooses the type of field based on a variety of factors; if you don't know for certain that something is not a specific field type it's probably best to leave these at their defaults.

Data shouldn't be lost just because you change the field type, but the results may look odd -- for example, a Fact field with a date and a place in the text field, or an Event field with just a memo.

Other than for names why is some of the text bold?
I would need more information to answer this question, such as some screenshots with examples. I'd suggest sending a few screenshots to help@leisterpro.com.

Assuming this is in a book project, you would change margins by clicking "Book settings" icon (gear icon at bottom-center of the book project window). If you're referring to some other reports, please let me know.

If you're referring to the Media pages in the book report, you can uncheck the Media page option under "Include" (after selecting Reports / Book) to not have them included in the report. If you want to remove the Media pages from an already created book, click the "Update book contents from family file" icon at bottom-center of the book project window (left of the previously mentioned settings icon, looks like two circling arrows), uncheck Media pages from the window that drops-down, then click Update.

In both situations the pages will be numbered sequentially.
