    Gedcom question...

Hi-I want to download a gedcom with just my blood relatives and I keep getting something wrong....

I go to Mark--->Blood relatives (I am selected as the Source) and that creates a list of 3707 people. I export it. But when I go to import it into the program that I am wanting to upload it to (Genome Mate) it asks if John Adams is the Source person. I select No because I am the source person (I had hoped anyway) and the gedcom is not uploading.

Anyone have any ideas where I am going wrong? Thanks for the help, Judy

You can always set the source person after importing, if Genome Mate will let you.

The GEDCOM standard doesn't include a way to indicate who the source person is, so you will need to set that on the website after you've uploaded the GEDCOM.

...and the gedcom is not uploading.
The best way to determine why the GEDCOM isn't uploading is to contact Genome Mate's technical support. They should be able to help resolve that issue.

I have contacted Genome Mate's technical support and am just waiting for a reply. I thought there was a step I was missing in preparing the gedcom.

I'm not aware that there is a way of selecting the source person after importing since I haven't gotten that far yet.... I've just begun using the program.
