    Editing/Merging Event Titles

    Hi all,

    Hope someone can help please.

I imported a GEDCOM from FTM into Reunion 10.
One of the fields was "Occupation".

When it appears in Reunion it shows as *New [OCCU]

Is the anyway l can do a global edit to convert the many hundreds l have of this occurrence to the existing event of "Employment".

I have checked out the help file but l can't see anything there that will do it.

    Cheers

Click the "?" button and search the manual for "move fields" (without the quotes).

    You'll find the answer.

Do as the manual suggests: save a backup copy first, as moving fields can't be undone.

The other alternative, if you haven't made changes since importing the FTM GEDCOM file -- and assuming you have a backup copy of your family file pre-import -- is to re-do the GEDCOM import and you can set up the GEDCOM Import > Optional Fields window to route the Occupation data into the existing Employment field.

Thank you. It has all worked out.
