Does anyone document a miscarried child that was named? There's no funeral, no cemetery stone, etc. but this lady named the baby boy that was miscarried. Thoughts?

Document everything for future generations. Somebody may come upon the reference to the name and want to know the story.

I wold document the child, but I would call it a premature birth.

IMHO, since the parents considered that miscarried child an offspring of theirs, I would defiintely document it.

I, in any event, document anything and everything I find on everyone.

I totally agree with all prior recommendations in the thread to record miscarriages. I'd just add the following points:

• Reunion's standard layout covers the situation neatly under "Child Status", where the standard list includes "Stillborn". You can edit and add to these options as you choose in "Child Status" preferences.

• Depending on the circumstances - for example, if you found documentation of medical explanation of a particular miscarriage or of repeated miscarriages - you might also consider entering a medical note in Reunion. For example, I use medical notes to record cause of death, as well as any medical history for particular individuals.

• In some jurisdictions and circumstances a stillbirth results in a burial and death registration like any other (noting that you mention this didn't happen in specific case on which you based your inquiry).
