Might be one of the Reunion users can give me a help with Census records of 1860 from Iowa and sent me a readable screendump or download ?.

He - Phillip Vander Miden - does show up in the 1895 Iowa state census as being 81 years old, living in Pella, Marion County, Iowa. There's also a 17 year old - Phillip Vander Miden also living in Pella, Marion County, Iowa. There are no images for this, just the index.

This family is also in 1885 Iowa State Census and I have an image for that - send me an eMail to rogerkiwi@aol.com and I can send that to you.

ThanksI could not find Philippus Meyden (various spellings) in 1870. But I probably gave up to easily <grin>.

But good news! I may possibly have found the children Arie and Jacoba Meyde in 1870 but names are altered slightly. Merdi instead of Meyde. But transcription variations by census takers is a common problem especially with foreign-sounding names. Both Arie and Jacoba are enumerated in the same location (Lake Prairie twp, Marion county, Iowa), and are the right ages and happen to be listed amongst Vershey households. Vershey was also a name appearing with these children in the 1860 census. I emailed the 1870 census image for your inspection.
