I have been looking for the cemetery that a gg uncle was buried in. I think that I may have found the place because of FamilySearch.org's new beta site, http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/, has several of his relatives buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. But that isn't really the point of my post. Being curious I wonder if MMC was on the web and what the condition of the cemetery was. What I found is very disturbing. Other than the Navy graves that are, I think, in reasonable shape, the place is a disaster. Someone else who has relatives there posted at their blog about it. I grabbed this quote which summaries the sorry state of MMC

"I also called the GSP to discuss this cemetery with them and to seek any advice. The kind lady at GSP first told me that she expressed condolences to me for simply having ANYONE buried at this cemetery. She warned me that hours of operation are sketchy and that wild dogs are known to roam the place. She wished me luck."

Here is the link for the rest of the blog;

For those of you on Facebook, there is a volunteer organization for MMC, the "Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery" if you want more info.
