View Full Version : Incorrect preferred picture behavior

For numerous individuals in my family file I don't have actual photos of them but have added other multimedia items such as photos of grave markers, scans of important documents, etc. In those situations, I prefer not to have any of these items as the "preferred picture" on the person's card.
Unfortunately, the first multimedia item is getting displayed for these people anyway in Reunion for iPhone. I'm still exploring the program (having just bought it less than 30 minutes ago) and don't yet know if there's any way to edit (add/remove) multimedia items, but I'm sure this particular behavior isn't quite right.

Steve,
When you added the photos to the iPhone, did you select "preferred picture only" or did you go with all pictures? I think if you go with "all pictures" then a picture will appear on the card even if it is not designated as the preferred picture. Perhaps I should have said "I believe" as I did not experiment before the post.

BobI specified the inclusion of all pictures and not just preferred pictures. I'm guessing that selecting preferred picture only would've worked right since my regular family file doesn't have one for those individuals. But unless I'm completely missing something, it would appear that I've encountered a minor bug in the iPhone version of Reunion.

Perhaps, a minor bug or rather a feature which may be added. For at the present time a picture must be present to see a slide show or additional pictures. Maybe if there is no preferred picture a small camera icon on the person card could be displayed to indicate other pictures. Then tapping on the camera icon brings forth the other pictures. At least we know the options and if "all pictures is selected, then we will see a picture for an individual even if one has not been designated "preferred".
Since, this is the manner of the iPhone app, I have opted for preferred picture.
As an aside, on my wife's iPhone Reunion app, the preferred picture works for the granddaughter, since she has an abundance of picts of the granddaughter in the Photo app. :)
