When I try to put my family file on the iPod Touch, following the instructions, it gets as far as 'gathering records' and then a few seconds later, Reunion on the Mac quits unexpectedly. Any suggestions?

I have exactly the same problem. The screen reads "Reunion Sync"; Bonjour Enabled. However, the wheel under that continues to scroll around. It seems to me that the connection might not be made. If I continue, Reunion on my Mac quits. (I also have an iPod Touch.)

Cheers,
Helen

P.S. I have several files (40-112 KB) for small projects that I have done. They loaded on my iPod with no problem. My own family file is quite small (approx. 2500 persons). I cannot understand why it will not load. It continues to crash Reunion.

Any suggestions?Try sending the Sample Family (or a small marked subset of your family file) to your iPod Touch.

I tried loading the sample family and figured out what I was doing wrong. Now, how do I delete the sample family file from my iPhone?

On your Mac, open Reunion>File>iPhone>Get Changes from iPhone.

On your iPhone/Touch tap Reunion>tap sync.

Highlight the file on your Mac "changes" window and delete.

I just had the following message from Gregg:

"Hi Helen,

Thanks for sending the crash log.

I think you ran into a bug in Reunion. To get around it, select a family card view that does not display flags or any smart lists. For example: Select Reunion’s original “Default” view or create a new view that only shows the birth and death events. Then make sure this view is selected when you are putting your family file onto the iPhone.

Please let us know if this does not fix the problem.

I am happy to say that I have now successfully loaded my family file on my iPod.

Thanks again to Leister for their terrific support!

Cheers,
Helen

I'm having a similar problem.

Reunion crashes when I try to sync my family file from my MacBook. When I select "marked people only" which is a subset (11 people), it syncs fine. It just cannot do my entire file (which is only 465 people).

I then went to my iMac, where I have the exact same file, kept perfectly in sync using dropbox. I am able to sync from the iMac, then entire 465 people, but still not from the MacBook.

What is the difference?

What is the difference? It's hard to say. Make sure that you don't have any flags showing on the family card when you send the file to the iPhone. This is one known problem.

Otherwise, please send us the crash log and possibly your family file so that we can take a look at things here.

Gregg,

That worked. I created an iPhone view that is a duplicate of my custom view, only with flags removed. This synced fine on my MacBook. But I think you should know, when I sync from my iMac, it works just fine with my custom view that includes the flags.

I assume you are working on a fix that will not be affected by flags either way.
