I really enjoy using the Shift-Command-4 to make PDF images of anything on my screen. Is there a way I can attach those in Reunion? I have an eMac, OS10.3.9 and am using Reunion 8.06. Thanks!

Actually I think Shift-Command-4 will save a .PNG file, not a .PDF file, and yes you can include .PNG files in your multimedia collection in R8. To learn more, I suggest reading about using multimedia in Reunion 8 by clicking the Multimedia icon in the Reunion toolbar, and then select Multimedia Window from the popup menu. Then click on the "?" symbol in the lower left corner of the multimedia window to see the manual page and review the topics appropriate to your needs.

PDF files can be added as multimedia items and can be linked to people, families, and/or sources. In the HELP window, click on CONTENTS, then, under USING ADVANCED FEATURES, the MULTIMEDIA link.

Hi Katherine
PDF files can not be linked as multimedia in Reunion 8
Mac OS X 10.3.9 by default creates PDF files for screen shots, not PNG files.
If you want to stay wth Reunion 8 and Mac OS X 10.3 then you need to change the type of file that is created when you make a screen capture. You can change this setting with TinkerTool which you can get from here

I'm using OS 10.3.9, and often use the Grab application, which comes with the OS and is located in the Applications folder->Utilities folder. It gives you the same capabilities as the Shift-Command-4 screen capture, but the default format is TIFF, which you can use in Reunion. Try it...you'll find a lot of uses for it.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions - I will try both the PNG and Grab methods and see which works better for me. And maybe someday I'll upgrade - I have several OS 9 apps and am not ready to release them yet. One of my New Year's resolutions is to figure out what a Web Card is and how to use it - time to share all these years of research! Happy 2008 to all.
