View Full Version : Dumb Question

I'm using Reunion 8 0 6 on a Mac OS10.3.9.
I open R8 and select "Reports". A list of reports appears.
If a list is selected and asked to "open" it promptly disappears and a message -"That was not a Family File, Chart File or Gedcom File" appears.
It appears the list cannot be opened. It cannot be deleted and it cannot be transferred to any other application.
Presuming I wish to clear this list ( or access it in some way) what should I do?
p.s. I'm prepared to be embarrassed!

The secret is to quit Reunion.
Then locate the Reunion 8 folder (it's probably inside your Applications folder) and open it. Inside that folder is the Reports folder. At that point, you can drag reports to the trash on the Dock, or double-click a report to open one.

Just to put it another way: though the report files are created by Reunion, they are meant to be opened by a word processing program (the one you chose in Reunion preferences).
So the files [1] can be opened, [2] can be deleted, and [3] already belong to another application.

Dennis, My face is red. Thanks for the clear explanation. I have now mastered the beast (??) Don L

Thanks Frank, Between you and Dennis the explanation had been made clear - and I am suitably embarrassed. Don L
