"Never Married" grayed out

In an earlier version Reunion I indicated the fact that three of my uncles never married by typing 'never married' in the marriage place field. I never corrected this in R8.

After upgrading my R8 file to R9.03 I finally deleted that note but, when I click the brown '+' over their names, the 'never married' choice is grayed out. Obviously, I never typed anything on the wife's side of their family cards. The choice is available for other people in my file who never had a spouse entered.

I quit and restarted R9 but it made no difference. I went back to R8, deleted the note, and upgraded it again. Still no difference

Is there a way to correct this in my R9 file?

Maybe you created the wives but didn't enter any information? Try clicking on a wife's side and see if the top left of the card only has their ID number or also says 'Spouse of xxx'. If it's the former you've created a blank person and you'll need to delete this person before you can specify 'never married'.
