My Favorite New Features

1. Smart Lists. I replaced most event fields on my view with a Smart List showing events. My view now shows Birth, Christening, Smart List, Death, and Burial as the event fields. Very nice display, especially with ages showing. I also replaced most fact fields on my view with a Smart List.

2. Ability to use entire screen.

3. Full support for Mighty Mouse and two-finger trackpad scrolling.

Overall, I'm very impressed.

Ditto the above and might I add the following...

1. Spell check alone is worth the price of the upgrade. BRAVO!

2. The brushed aluminum interface.

3. Having the Preferences listed under Preferences, instead of a dialog directing you to the Options menu.

4. Thumbnail views in the multimedia window.

5. The addition of marriage dates in the Reminder window is very nice. But the list used to be "last name first", now it's "first name first". Is there any way to change it back?

I've only been using v.9 for a few hours so far, but am very impressed. The one thing I do not like is the tool tips constantly popping up. It would be nice to have the ability to turn them off.

Not sure what these are. Do you mean when you hover over a name, you get the ID No. and some basic info? It seems to take a long time (ok a few secs but this is relative!) for them to appear, but I think they are ok.

Thanks, but that also changes the family cards to last name first which I don't want.

Yes, I am referring to the little yellow boxes that appear when you hover over items like the icons in the toolbar or names on the family card. I find them annoying. There should be a way to turn them off.
