Hi---

What is the best way (standard?) of handling Jr. and Sr. suffixes in Reunion?

Of course, I place the Jr. suffix on the son, but should I put the Sr. on the father...or...leave him without-a-suffix?

I would like to use the "correct" way (or the "most correct" way) throughout my database. Right now I have a mixture and have some editing to do to make it consistant.

Thanks in advance.

Jr. (or III, IV, etc) will often be the legal name for a person, but, to my knowledge, no one was ever born with the legal name incorporating Sr.

It all depends upon whether you want formal or informal (ie. legal or non legal) names.

Personally, I do both. If I find a source showing Sr., I include it. If not, the father would not have Sr., but the son would.
