Because I was just 'messing about' and trying things with the demo I wasn't too careful what I did and made mistakes but now realise how easy it is to make mistakes.

I made two brothers father and son. I somehow managed to remove the 'son' but on the charts now it says 'unknown' instead of an actual name so I actually haven't managed to delete him as I thought I had. What can I do to remove the 'unknown' and how do you delete people?

Also, I added myself and mum but didn't realise I hadn't got my dad's details on so I added him later as my father but was given the option of a 'separate button or duplicate' (I think). I chose duplicate but now my dad has two wives. I tried to edit this and my mum ended up with two husbands. After more editing they each have the correct spouse and one unknown. Not really what I had in mind!!

What is the purpose of the clipboard? Also, when I click on the pencil icon under the clipboard it says edit quickbar but I don't understand it's use.

Even though there are so many things I still don't understand I really am getting to like it and of course having you all as 'backup' really helps.

Sorry to ask so many questions but again, I would appreciate your answers and comments.

Thank you,
Jennie

I'm going to answer your questions in reverse order.

The Quickbar is that little strip that runs just under the row of icons. It is very similar to the Bookmarks bar in Safari. If there are individuals you visit regularly in Reunion just drag their name into the Quickbar to create a button that links to that person. The pencil at the right end in the Quickbar allows you to edit the buttons in the Quickbar. It has nothing to do with the Clipboard.

The Clipboard in Reunion is sort of a cross between Reunion's trash and an actual clipboard. If you drag someone into the Clipboard you disconnect them from their family. They will remain there until you delete them from the Clipboard or drag them into a different family. You could play with this to fix the two brothers you made father and son. (The idea in fixing this is that everyone belongs to at least two families--the one they grew up in and the one they created when they got married.)

For people with multiple marriages (like you've done to your parents by accident) you will see a little red triangle on the person's button when you open their record. Use this to navigate to the marriage record you want to delete. One way to fix this is to drag the marriage record you want to delete to the Clipboard. This will warn you that it will put the two people in the Clipboard. Do this, open the Clipboard and REMOVE THE LINKS to these people (don't delete them).

Good luck!

Joe thank you for your answers. The way you put it it all sounds so simple and I suppose it is. It just takes a while to work your way around everything. I am going to go and fix things now, hopefully.

Thanks again,
Jennie
