After creating a large descendant chart (with photos) using Reunion 8, with a Mac OSX 10.4.6, how do I get the chart into Appleworks?

After creating a large descendant chart (with photos) using Reunion 8, with a Mac OSX 10.4.6, how do I get the chart into Appleworks? While I don't have Appleworks and don't know into which of its components you wish to put your chart, but if a conventional copy-and-paste doesn't work (i.e., while the chart is open in Reunion, do Edit->Copy and choose one of the sub-menu options and then switch to Appleworks and do the "paste"), then I suspect you need first to save a copy of the chart in a graphics format.
While the chart is open in Reunion, do a File->Save Graphic File, select a Type from the pop-up menu near the bottom-left of the window (others have suggested either TIFF or PNG over JPEG or PICT), enable or disable the "Include Frame" option to suit your needs, and after ensuring it has the name (with proper extension) and save-to location you want, click Save. I'd expect the resulting file could then be brought into Appleworks. (I will leave it to others to confirm that could be by dragging, by some "importing" process, or both.)
In either case, I'd urge you to do any formatting you need--outside of just scaling the whole chart--while in Reunion's Chart Editor as you may be dealing with just an "object" once in Appleworks.

"Thanks for your reply Dave-Your suggestions did not work.
I should tell you that, three months ago, I successfully placed the same Chart into Appleworks and burned it to a CD (it worked fine). Since then, I acquired additional information, corrections, photos, etc. and just upgraded the Chart.
I seem to have forgotten the procedure for getting it into Appleworks.
I noticed that Reunion 8 Reports has a destination option that includes Appleworks - but there is none for Charts."

As you saw in the Destination pop-up menu for a Report, they can be RTF (Rich Text Format), plain text, and for a Web browser/site. As the RTF can be handled directly by most word processors (with the formatting intact), you are also allowed to specify a word processor as a Destination for a Report--in which case the Report is sent to, and should open in, that word processor. Charts, however, in their native format, can only be opened by Reunion--hence no "Destination" choices, just the usual Save dialogue giving you the chance to name and specify where the file ends up.

Beatrice, David is absolutely correct. I tried it myself. Once you have made the descendant chart, select FILE > Save Graphic File
Open Appleworks then go to FILE >Open. At the bottom of the popup window, make sure "All Formats" is selected. Find your file and open it. Works great!

Beatrice,
1. Open your file in Reunion. (I tested with a dec. chart, a fan chart and another chart that I had created with pictures of myself with 3 generations.)
2. Go to File/Save a Graphic file....and save it to the Desktop.
3. Then open AW. Click on Document Type/All types and File Format/All Available.
4. Scroll to your Desktop from the AW menu and select the chart. It also works in Photoshop CS but not in InDesignCS.
You know that you can save a chart in Reunion and print it which might be better than taking it into AW.
The others were right, just didn't go far enough in the explanation.

"Thank you David, Jane and Janet for your responses.
I followed the 4-steps that Janet outlined and (except for a couple of goofs that I made in clicking on the save or don't save changes) the process worked and I burned the file to CD.
Janet: This is a big file (313+ boxes) and printing(or emailing) is not viable right now.
Just want to get the Chart to family members so that they can view it on their monitor.
Thanks again"
