Hi there. I'm in the process of deciding which genealogy software to buy to run on our Mac, and Reunion is coming up top of the list so far.

You all seem to know the programme inside out, so can you help me by confirming whether I will be able to get it to do what I want it to do!?

When printing out charts/trees, will Reunion include ALL siblings, not just direct decendents? I like to get a visual feel for the family group as a whole....I want to see if there were 11 children who were mainly girls.....if there was only one surviving child....etc.....that is the side of genealogy that interests me most.

Ideally, I'd like all children in one box with the direct decendant in bold....or am I being to fussy!?

I've downloaded Heredis and MacFamilyTree, and they dont seem to do this.

Does Reunion?

Many thanks for your time,
Yvette

I'm not sure I'm following exactly what you have in mind but I believe Reunion will do what you are asking about. There is a difference between the descendant chart and the relative chart. The relative chart is more likely to draw collateral relations which seems to fit what you are asking about.

In reunion you can mark a line of people in bold but I don't think this transfers to drawing charts. But, you can edit the charts once they have been drawn and save them for future use. And maybe I'm too picky for my own good but I always do some tweaking to a chart generated by Reunion anyway.
