Moving a fact to an Event

When importing a gedcom my census records have appeared as facts not events.

The cens line contains date, address, memo (with the commas)

Is there a way of moving the field to an event such that the date address and memo are placed in the relevant fields. I tried a test and all the information was moved to the Memo field.

    Thanks

    Peter

Probably not - a line as you describe is not conforming at all to the GEDCOM standard - each entity should be its own line with a tag preceding it, not separated by commas.

Many thanks you have confirmed what I suspected. I will have to edit the gedcom to create the entries and relevant tags.

It might be easier to let Reunion do the first part for you - try what happens if you use the "Move" in the Field Preferences part of Reunion Preferences - you might be able to move them all to a Census event, and then go through and edit them one by one there.

Many thanks, that will make a difference when editing the gedcom.
