In the ReUnion 7 it was easy to delete a family I was done with. All I needed to do was to drag it out of the Reunion folder and into the garbage. This doesn't work with Reunion 8. Or...Could I be doing something wrong???

Excerpt from the Reunion Manual:
Deleting a Family Record
Be very careful with this feature -- it cannot be undone!
The easiest way to delete a family record is to drag the Marriage button to the Clipboard.
You can also choose File -> Delete People and click the Delete This Family Record button.
* Deleting a family record will delete all marriage information, family events, and family notes for the current couple.
* Each spouse on the family card will remain in the family file separately -- their individual records remain intact, but the two are no longer linked together. The records for their parents and children will also remain intact.
* The children that appeared on their family card are removed, and thus the children are no longer linked to either parent, but the children will remain in the family file.

If you're talking about removing an entire family file, the method of removing it remains the same from Reunion 7 to Reunion 8 - drag the file to the Trash.
When you say it doesn't work - what do you mean by "doesn't work"?
Can you simply not drag the file to the Trash?
Can you drag it to the Trash, but yet next time you open Reunion you still see the data in that file?
Something else I'm not guessing at?

Thanks for your answer, Bob,
But I'm having difficulty articulating this problem. I don't mean deleting a certain family from a particular Family File, but deleting an entire family from my Reunion Program.
I'll explain it this way. In my Reunion Genealogy folder a have lots of differently named Family Files. I have my husband's "Allen Family File", and my own "Lewis Family File" and and my Welsh Haines/Bright Family File, etc. You get the idea. But then I researched my cousins' spouses families into several new named files, then merged their two Family Files for their children. I printed them out, sent them off and am quite done with them. BUT...now I've got about 7 files for families of those husbands and wives to whom I myself am not related.
It's those entire non-related Family Files I just want to delete out of my Reunion Folder since I'll never use them again. I used to be able to drag them out of the Reunion 7 folder to the garbage, but in 8 they don't seem to budge and want to stay in my Reunion Genealogy Program Folder forever!
Hopefully this is a better explanation?
Thanks, MitziA

OK Roger,
I got it. I don't think I want to explain how I dragged those files to the trash this time but couldn't do it last time. Alright, here's a hint: You can't drag a family file to the trash from the family file list. Only the icons can be dragged. (Red Face) I just updated this imac to OS X and Reunion 8 and it looks different. (So I had a negative expectance--and got what I expected.)
Thank you--my head is under my wing.
