    Same User ID needed

I have several dozen family files that I will need to merge eventually. This is a "Clan" project, with many people submitting their data. What I want to do is to create a stable, exportable, field within each family file that I can set to the same value for each person in a particular file. The purpose is to note which original family file that person came from when looking at the merged file. I know how to do this in a regular database program, but how would I do it in Reunion?

    Thanks a bunch. Barbara

I do this with Flags in Reunion - you can set a flag in each file that says where it came from and then those flags import to other files.

If you merge a person you can merge the flags so that you'll know if a person came from more than one family.

You could also do the same thing with General Sources

Thank you Roger, I'll give that a try. I checked out your Moffat Clan webpage. I may need to do something like that eventually. I don't know if our Clan webmaster is up to the task, but I'll let him have first crack at it. Thanks again.
